I'm Carolyn Howitt and I'm delighted that you're here!
I love listening to the problems that people bring me and helping them find solutions. There is no 'hard sell': if you're ready for career counselling then I'd love to help, but if you're not, then I'm still happy to have a free phone chat and make some recommendations. Some people just need a CV refresh or help with job searching/applications. Others might be happier finding smaller actions they can do in order to remain where they are with more sanity. I can help with all of this.
I work with people age 21+ across all life stages and industries. Recent experience includes recruitment, teaching, the arts, museums, finance, charities, healthcare and the public sector.
My own career has taken a number of major twists and turns, just like the vast majority of people.
I started out as primary school teacher, before moving into a 'dream job' in museum education at The British Museum. Family pressures forced me to embark on a fresh start in recruitment in my 40s, which pretty quickly led me to career counselling. I absolutely love what I do now - I have definitely found my place.
I live in a beautiful Kent village with my husband and two teenage children. Our daughter is disabled, so I understand how crucial work/home harmony can be.
